Burlington – James Harley “Jim” Moon, 73, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on February 20, 1945 in Orange County to the late Elmer Harley Moon and Audra Adell Kimrey Moon and was married to the late Ah-Yuan Lee “Mickey” Moon who died in 2012. Jim retired from Gilbarco after 41 years of service.

He graduated from Southern Alamance High School, Class of 1963. He enjoyed deer hunting and was a US Air Force veteran. He… is survived by his sisters, Grace Moon, Edith Martin and Edna Phillips; step sons, Naiko Chang and Niayou “John” Chang; step grandchildren, Li-Chieh “Lee” Chang and Yin-Yin Chang; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Webster with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:45 am Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the sister, Edna’s home in Mebane.
