Roney Carlotis Atwater, 66 of 4429 Mineral Springs Rd. passed away on February 26, 2016 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospitals. He was the son of the P.T. Atwater and Hilda Parrish Atwater, both deceased and the husband of Priscilla Louise Garner Atwater.

He retired from MeadWestvaco as was a member of Glen Raven 1st Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife: Louise G. Atwater of the home; a son: Charles Mitchell, Jr., 2 grandchildren and 5 siblings: Rosa Riley, Timothy Atwater, Denise Royster (Lavon), Randy Atwater and Carrie Harrelson (Roger); sister-in-law: Peggy Atwater as well as several nieces & nephews other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a two siblings: Betty Joe Atwater and Steve W. Atwater.
