James “Jim” Lamar Plymel, 75, of Summerville, husband of Frances Williams Plymel, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3 o’clock at Faith Assembly of God, 337 Farmington Rd.

, Summerville, SC 29483. Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Faith Assembly of God, 337 Farmington Rd. , Summerville, SC 29483. Jim (Lamar) was born on May 17, 1943, son of the late Arthur and Clara Plymel.

He attended Pavo High School in Pavo, GA. He served a combined 47 years in Government service as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration and as a SSGT (Infantry Airborne Ranger) in the United States Army. Survivors including his wife Frances of 56 years are: four sons: Timothy Plymel of Summerville, James D. Plymel of Summerville, Duane Plymel (Jessyka) of Summerville, and Kenneth Plymel (Jessica) of New Albany, IN; eleven grandchildren: Chloe, Micah, Emma, Karson, Olivia, Clara, Brianna, Khrystyna, Bailei, James Lee and Adelyn; three sisters: Phalere Cannon (Fred) of Port Saint Joe, FL, Margie Castleberry of Kathleen, FL, and Carolyn Lewis (Darrell) of Tallahassee, FL.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Dorothy Myers and Connie Gay; three brothers: WJ Plymel, Ray Plymel and Lynwood Plymel. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www. jamesadyal.com.
