Obituary of James “Jimmy” Duncan James “Jimmy” M. Duncan, 59, Marion, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on December 7, 1958, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Marion and the son of James Duncan and Betty (Hawkins) Bridenthal. He married Rachel Dalton on July 27, 1987, and she survives.

Jimmy was always known for being a hard-working man. Prior to working at Caravan for the last 10 years, he worked at Atlas Foundry for 29 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, football, and especially spending time with his family.

Jimmy attended Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rachel; children, James Duncan, Jr., Shianna (Walt) Riddle, Misty Duncan, Michelle (Nakesha) Cook, and Jami (Willy) Love, all from Marion; brothers, Marvin (Nancy) Yeakle, Jeff (Mary Ann) Duncan, and Rick Bridenthal; sisters, Phoebe Bridenthal, Rebecca (Rod) Sherman, and Connie Lester; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother, Betty Bridenthal; step-father, Richard Bridenthal; his brother, Mark Duncan; and one grandchild.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Jimmy’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
