Obituary of Lois Matheus Lois A. Matheus, 71, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Wesleyan Health and Rehab in Marion. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 1, 1946, and was the daughter of the late John Marvin and Thelma (Dever) Baxter. On August 20, 1966, Lois married Milton “Buddy” Matheus, and they shared nearly 40 years together before he preceded her in death on February 28, 2006.

Lois graduated from Mehlville High School in St. Louis, Missouri, and continued her post-secondary education at a nursing school. She was a receptionist in the office of Dr. Raj in Marion for several years. Lois was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church and was very involved in youth-oriented church events.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Angela) Matheus, Columbia, South Carolina, and David (Kat) Matheus, Pitcairn, Pennsylvania; brother, John (Linda) Baxter, Fountain Hills, Arizona; grandchildren, Cole Matheus and Lily Matheus, both from Columbia, South Carolina; nieces, Christy (Keith) Baxter, Amy Baxter, and Andrea Baxter, all from Fountain Hills, Arizona; and 3 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN.

Funeral services for Lois will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.
