Obituary of Wayne Carmack Wayne Edward Carmack, 65, Converse, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Peru on August 13, 1952, to the late James and Mildred (Cofelt) Carmack. Wayne married Connie Magner on June 30, 2001, and she survives.

Wayne served as the waste water superintendent for the town of Swayzee for 34 years. He also performed water analysis for Oak Hill High School and also served 10 years on the high school Board. He was a volunteer EMT for the Swayzee Fire Department and past Master of the Masonic Lodge 637 in Swayzee.

He enjoyed woodworking, football, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Connie; sons, Nathan (Sarah) Carmack, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Justin (Cindy) Carmack, Avon; step-children, Cindy (Dave Wood) Cummings, Swayzee, Jeff (Erin) Moloch, Houston, Texas, Jennifer (George) Cunningham, Amboy, Melissa (Jeremy) Savage, Flora, Perry Taylor, Converse, and Danny (Kim) Taylor, Kokomo; and 16 grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.

Services to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Smoot officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery in Swayzee. Memorial contributions may be directed to Swayzee Volunteer Fire Department, 108 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN 46986.
