Obituary of Anne Carellas Anne Carellas, 100, Marion, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 3, 1918, to the late Joseph and Mary (Cappiello) Demeo. She married Gus Carellas in 1939, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1972.

They had three daughters. Anne started working at the Peanuts Specialty Candy Factory in Chicago while in her teens. She then went to work as an operator for Illinois Bell.

Later, she moved to the billing department at Sears-Roebuck & Company. Then she worked as a cashier for Jewel Tea Company in Villa Park, IL. Anne liked cooking, gardening, and sewing, and she loved to travel in the R.V. with her daughter, Maryanne, and her family.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion. Everyone who knew her knew that she loved ice cream. She is survived by her daughter, Maryanne Fitzgerald, Marion; grandchildren, Joseph (Tracy) Fitzgerald, Matthews, North Carolina, Lisa (Derek) Decker, Marion, David (Anna) Fitzgerald, Highland, Michigan, Jennifer Curry, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Steven Curry, Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Anthony (Amber) Decker, Marion, Meagan Fitzgerald, Charlotte, North Carolina, Nicholas Wusterbarth, Fort Wayne, Sarah Wusterbarth, Toledo, Ohio, Jasmine Curry, South Bend, Bryan Fitzgerald, Charlotte, North Carolina, Collin Curry, Indianapolis, Greer Decker, Marion, Connor Curry, Indianapolis, Noelle Fitzgerald, Highland, Michigan, Leah Fitzgerald, Highland, Michigan, and Karina Curry, Indianapolis; and great-great-granddaughter, Claire Olivia Decker, Marion.

Along with her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by her two daughters, Irene Carellas and Lauren Curry; son-in-law, Joseph Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Julie Fitzgerald; and three sisters and a brother. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Anne’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1031 W. Kem Rd. , Marion, IN.

Father Christopher Roberts will be officiating with burial taking place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN.
