Obituary of Frederick “Fred” Miller Frederick “Fred” Paul Miller, 79, Gas City, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, in his home. Born in Marion on December 4, 1938, and a lifelong resident of Grant County, Fred was the son of the late Samuel and Leatha (Linville) Miller. He married his high school sweetheart, Carmen Dauenhauer, on May 18, 1957, and will greatly miss him.

Fred was a 10-year veteran of the National Guard, and he owned Miller and Son’s Body Shop, now known as Miller’s American Auto Body Repair. He was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed swimming, camping, skiing, boating, and skating.

During high school, he had played football. Most of all, Fred loved spending time with his family and serving the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carmen; son, Gary (Murrell) Miller, Marion; daughters, Tammy (Craig) Dunn, Fishers, and Dana (Don) Howlett, Marion; grandchildren, Steve (Erika) Dunn, Becky Dunn, Stephen (Casey) Howlett, Parker (Jessi Ropp) Miller, Bethany Howlett, Mallory (Ben) Heincker, and Levi Dunn; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Dunn, Jacob Dunn, Avery Howlett, Sawyer Dunn, Judah Howlett, and Miriam Myles Heincker; brother, Ralph (Janet) Miller; and sisters, Maryann Malott and Debbie (Bill) Bastin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Miller; grandson, SPC Myles Miller; and brother-in-law, Howard Malott. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Services to celebrate Fred’s life will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Atkinson and Pastor Steve Armes officiating.
