Obituary of Raymond Hall Raymond E. “Rocky” Hall, Jr., 72, Gas City, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Marion. He was born in Marion to the late Raymond and Sarah (Stephens) Hall, Sr., on February 10, 1946. Rocky was a lifelong resident of Grant County.

He married Carolyn Thompson on July 29, 1996, and she survives. Rocky was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army and earned two Purple Hearts. In 2002, he retired from Gen Corp after serving 30 years as a mule driver.

In the 1960s, he played in the Torkays Band. He also played softball for “Over the Hill Gang”. A couple of hobbies included golfing and bowling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carolyn; children, Summer (Tracy Price) Hall, Seymour, Jill (Nathan) Small, Bedford, Tracey (Jodi) Ross, Upland, Ray Hall, Marion, and Joe (Meghan) Rice, New Braunfels, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Belinda (Danny) Felton, Tennessee, and Brenda Weikel, Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his son, Steve Hall; two sisters, Katrina Hall and Paula Jarvis; brother-in-law, Randy Weikel; and step-father, Clarence Dunning. A Celebration of Life service for Rocky will be held at a later date.
