Obituary of Madeline Elliott Madeline Elliott, 101, Marion, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Radley, Indiana, on July 16, 1917, to the late Leslie Lee and Daisy Opal (Logan) Smith. On October 20, 1934 she married her loving husband, Orville N. Elliott, and they shared 62 years together before he passed away on November 11, 1996.

Madeline was a graduate of Fairmount High School. She was a homemaker throughout her life and served her husband and family. Madeline also loved her Lord dearly and served Him faithfully at her church at Twin City Bible Baptist.

She played the organ in her younger years and was actively involved as a Sunday School teacher and with VBS. Some of her favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, flower arranging, reading, cooking, and painting, which she began at the age of 84. She was there to help her granddaughters when they were going through problems in life.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Linda) Elliott, Jackson, Mississippi; daughter, Ruth (Roger) Sartain, Marion; grandchildren, Joy (Paul) Burritt, Marion, Gina (Mike) Schmucker, Marion, Keith (Shontena) Elliott, Byram, Mississippi, and Randy (Joan) Elliott, Byram, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Sheila Johnson, Gas City, Amanda Schmucker, Marion, Christal Schmucker, Indianapolis, Melody Schmucker, Marion, Kimberly (Tyler) French, Byram, Mississippi, Chris (Kristen) Elliott, Byram, Mississippi, Katy (Zach) Goza, Brandon, Mississippi, and Anna Claire Elliott, Byram Mississippi; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Bobby Tolbert. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jonathan Keen; brother, Ronald Smith; and sister, Dorothy Tolbert. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Madeline’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018, at Twin City Bible Baptist Church, 7252 S. Meridian St., Marion, IN. Pastor Dale Schuiteman will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be directed to Twin City Bible Baptist Church, 7252 S. Meridian St., Marion, IN 46953.
