Obituary of Stephanie McMurray Stephanie Jo McMurray, 52, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 4:13 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion to David Ray Barley, Sr., and the late Jennie Leopa (Pavone) Barley on October 9, 1966, and was Daddy’s little girl. Stephanie graduated from Marion High School in 1985 and took some college classes for insurance licensing.

On February 24, 1996, she married the love of her life, Leland McMurray. She was a homemaker throughout her life and loved serving her family and spending time with them, especially around the holidays. Stephanie loved the Lord and was very strong in her faith.

She was a member of Glad Tidings and also had strong ties with First Pentecostal Church. She was also a member of Warriors for the Children. She enjoyed various hobbies and activities including antiquing, motorcycle riding, concerting, quilting (many of which she had made throughout the years), and crafts.

Stephanie was a very strong-willed woman with a passion to always be right. Gregg Allman was her favorite musician, and she really enjoyed listening to his music. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 22 years, Rev.

Leland; son, Daniel McMurray, Marion; father, David Ray Barley, Sr., Marion; brother, David (Shelly) Barley, Jr., Manila, Arkansas; niece, Amanda Barley, Marion; nephews, Captain Micah (Courtney) Barley, Fort Hood, Texas, and Justin and Tyler Barley, both from Manila, Arkansas; great-nephew, Tristen Hayes; great-niece, Isley Hayes; and many additional family and friends. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Stephanie’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at First Pentecostal Church, 1116 S. Pennsylvania St., Marion, IN. Pastors Allen Hudson, Darrin Williams, and Josh Elliott will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Warriors for the Children, 2132 W. 6th St., Marion, IN 46953.
