Leol Jo Wollan John , April 12, 1945 — August 30, 2018

Obituary of Leola Wollan John Leola Joy Wollan John, 73, Gas City, went to be with the Lord at 12:12 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Hart, Michigan, on April 12, 1945, to the late Floyd and Joyce (Barnes) Boardman. She married Richard Wollan, who preceded her in death.

Leola was a graduate of Cadillac High School in Cadillac, Michigan, and attended nursing school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked for 30 years as an LPN and retired from Wesley Village in 2002. She was a member of Sweetser Wesleyan Church.

Leola enjoyed crafting and keeping in touch with her extended family. She loved to sing, especially Gaither songs. She will be remembered as a devoted grandmother, loving mom, and a good friend.

Leola loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, with all of her heart. She is survived by her son, Rev. Rich (Rachel) Wollan, Fairmount; grandchildren, Josiah, Adalynn, Jonathan, and Joshua; siblings, Marilyn (Rick) Hagstrom, Ohio, Arleta (Tim) Ferree, Jonesboro, and Rev.

Steve (Ruth) Boardman, Evansville; nieces, Karen, Wendy, Kelly, Amy, Stephanie, Kristin, and Alyssa; nephews, Dale, Kevin, Alex, and Phil; and several wonderful friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leland Boardman. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Sweetser Wesleyan Church, 200 W. Delphi Pike, Sweetser, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a memorial service to celebrate Leola’s life will be held at 7 p.m. with her son, Rev. Rich Wollan, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.
