Obituary of Gary Liston Gary “Snook” Liston, 73, Upland, passed away in his home with his wife and daughter at his side at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born in Marion on July 15, 1944, to the late Oscar “Bud” and Betty (Helvie) Liston. Gary married Cheryl Carroll on June 27, 2001, and she survives.

Gary graduated from Mississinewa High School where he held numerous track and field records. He retired from Dana Corp. after 30 years of service.

He enjoyed working in his shop in his garage, as well as spending time in his Tavares, Florida, home. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Cheryl; daughter, LeeAnne (Mark Peters) Howard, Fairmount; step-daughters, Dianne (Perry) Hovermale, Upland, April (Brian) Sell, Fort Wayne, and Roni Carroll, Beaverton, Oregon; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine L. Jones; uncle, Ernie Helvie; and lifelong friend, Nate Eakins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Don Metzger.

The family will have a Celebration of Life visitation for Gary from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Online condolences may be made at www. nswcares.com.
