James’ Obituary James Klosowski passed away on May 24th at Bay Shores. He was born in Bay City to the late Roman and Victoria (Potla) Klosowski on August 12, 1936. Jim had a Business Degree from Northeastern Business School and was employed at Werner Pharmacy for thirty-three years until he retired in 1989.
He was an usher and lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. James enjoyed gardening and taking care of his roses and various flowers was one of his favorite hobbies. It was evident by the beautiful landscaping that surrounded the house.
Feeding the birds, and any other backyard animals that came to visit, was also a favorite pastime of his. Chloe, the family dog, was his little buddy who he loved to spoil with treats in return for kisses. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the stock market.
He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sons, James M. and Tom Klosowski; daughters, Patricia Klosowski and Donna Teeples; stepsons John (Patricia) Schmidt, Jerry Schmidt, Jeff (Amy Fischer) Schmidt; stepdaughter Joan (Mike) Hansen; sister, Alice Courtney; brothers-in-law, Francis (Peg) Sabourin, John (Debra) Sabourin; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hahn, Joan (Andrew) Tierman-Sabourin, Barbara (Michael) DuRussel and Sue Sabourin; special friends Stan and Betty Liss and many nieces, nephews and cousins. James was blessed with many loving grandchildren, Dustin Castro, Janae and Tristan Teeples, Angie Schmidt, JJ (Kendra) Schmidt, Melody Bradbury, Stacy Schmidt, Kayla Harrington, Danielle (Jonathan) Arneberg, Adam (Emily) Hansen, Amber (Jason) Beatty; great grandchildren, Kelsie, Jaxton, Daxton Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Austin Ryan, Jasmine Ryan, Brenden Harrington, Evelyn Arneberg, Beckham Hansen, Ryder and Ridge Beatty.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Roman & Victoria (Potla); sister, Dorothy (Albin) Reder; brothers, Roman and Al (Jean) Klosowski; niece, Lisa Pentala; nephew, Robert Reder; stepson James D. Schmidt and brothers-in-law, David Sabourin and Richard Hahn. We would like to give our sincere thank you to Heartland Home Care for the love and care they gave James throughout his time in need. Thank you Heartland Hospice for making him comfortable in his final days. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Jane Grzegorczyk with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
