ASHTABULA A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for James M. LaCivita Sr., 59, formerly of Hubbard, who died Tuesday October 2, 2018. He was born January 20, 1959 in Youngstown, a son of James A. and Phyllis Pascarella LaCivita.

Mr. LaCivita, a 1977 graduate of Hubbard High School was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and had been the Superintendent of Deer Creek Golf Course in Hubbard for 30 years. Jim was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed flowers and gardening. He loved spending time and being around his family, especially his grandson Anthony.

Jim was someone who was friendly, warm and kind to strangers and people from all walks of life. He leaves his wife, the former Cathryn L. Pettola, whom he married June 10, 1983; two sons, James LaCivita Jr. and Christopher LaCivita and his wife Brandy; a daughter, Mary Cathryn LaCivita; a grandson, Anthony; his mother, Phyllis LaCivita; a brother, Larry LaCivita and his wife Debbie; four sisters, Karen LaCivita, Maria Castner and her husband Donald, Christine Mangan and Susan LaCivita all of Hubbard. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Anthony LaCivita and his father, James A. LaCivita.

Family and friends may call on Monday October 8, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Deer Creek Golf Course, 7691 East Liberty St. in Hubbard. Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery. Please visit www.
