Obituary for James Marshall Murphy James Marshall Murphy, 72, of Collinsville, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at his home. He was born October 20, 1946, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Otis and Ruby Compton Murphy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Taylor; and brother David Murphy.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Cannaday Murphy; daughter, Missy Taylor; son, Shawn Murphy (Jean); grandchildren, Lauren Craddock, Emily, Jake and Cassie Taylor, Lynn and Matthew Murphy; and great-grandchild, Brooklyn Craddock. A visitation service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M., at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia, 24112.
