Obituary for James Michael Abraham James Michael Abraham, more affectionately known as Pap, age 87, passed peacefully at his home in Utica, Michigan on June 21, 2018. James is the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Helen Smith Abraham (nee Sim); the loving father of Dolores “Dolly” (Edward) Gorczyk, Lorraine (John) Taylor, and MaryEllen Renne “Mer”; the cherished grandfather of Elizabeth (Christopher) Felkamp, Andrew (Victoria) Gorczyk, Amanda Chilcoat, Caitlin Taylor, Jonah Ings, Jordan Ings, and MacKenzie Ings; the dear great-grandfather of Caroline and Benjamin Gorczyk; the loving brother of Paul Abraham, Joan Myers, and the late Dan Abraham. Pap was a faithful disciple of Christ.

His love and devotion to family was a living testimony and shining example of his Christ-like character. Pap’s kindness and selfless attitude towards others, dedication and commitment to his church family and their ministries, an old fashion gospel hymn sing, and a good clean joke are only a small example of who this Godly man was. Pap would always encourage everyone to stay close to God.

Joshua 24:15 “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. A private family ceremony will be held this summer at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan to honor James’ military service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Oregon United Methodist Church, 2971 German Road, Colombiaville, Michigan 48421.
