Obituary for James Monroe Brown James Monroe Brown Viewing & visitation for James M. Brown of El Reno will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. in Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held in the First Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Mr. Tyler Kelley will officiate.

Private family interment will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home. Mr. Brown passed away on Saturday July 14, 2018 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

He was born on February 27, 1936 in El Reno, OK. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Union City High School and had attained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southwestern State University. James Monroe Brown married Dolores June Darland on May 4, 1956 in Long Beach, WA.

He served in the United States Air Force. He came to El Reno in 1962 and has resided here since. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

James was a member of the American Legion, Federal Reformatory Employee Club, NARFE, and the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Herschel LeRoy Brown & Nita Bonita (Owens) Brown, and Sister: Joretta Collins. Survivors include: His Wife Dolores June (Darland) Brown of the home.

Daughter: Brenda Young & husband Douglas of Edmond, OK. 3 – Sons: Douglas Brown of Rembert, S.C., Darrell Brown & wife Annette of El Reno, OK. Jeffery Brown of Danville, IL Sisters: Mary Ann Sweeney & husband Brian of Oklahoma City, OK.

Arlene Ferik & husband George of Midwest City, OK. , Virginia Ross & husband Jerry of Yukon, OK. 6 – Grandchildren: Christopher Young & wife Karen, Jonathan Young, Nicholas Brown & wife Amber, Madison Brown, Steven Brown, Ethen Brown and many other relatives and many dear friends.
