James Robert Friendy Sr., 58, of Brunswick, Georgia entered into rest Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems. James was born February 7, 1960 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the son of the late Joseph Friendy and the late Anna Clara Friendy. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Friendy; two sisters, Loretta Badame Schaffer and Rosemary Kolinski; also two brothers, Joseph Edward Badame and Daniel Friendy.

James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served his country with honor for twenty years in the United States Army. After he retired and was honorably discharged, he moved to Quakertown Pennsylvania, then Middleburg Florida and then Brunswick, Georgia.

He then became employed by Jekyll Island Authority as their Fleet manager. Left to cherish James’s memories are his loving wife, Petra Friendy; a daughter, Anja Friendy of Lehighton, PA; two sons, Joseph Daniel Friendy III of Brunswick, Georgia and Scott Lauger of Fountain, Colorado; four precious grandchildren, DJ Ramos, ZsaZsa Ramos, Bianca Montoya, and AJ Montoya; five sisters, Susan Badame, Jacqueline Badame Schaffer, Sarah Friendy Traverse, Cynthia Friendy Large, and Melissa Friendy; brothers, Lawrence Friendy and Mike Friendy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

James loved to spend time with his family and friends. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He will always be remembered for his good sense of humor and taking pride in providing for his family.

James was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also enjoyed working on cars and then selling them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.
