JAMES THOMAS “MUC” McCLEERY, 59, died unexpectantly on Sunday, Septermber 23, 2018. A graduate of Wintersville High School Class of 1977, Tom was a friend to everyone he met throughout his life. With a sparkle in his blue eyes, he had a personality like none other.

A man of few words who rarely openly expressed his emotions, Tom cared deeply and compassionately for all those he knew. Our hearts will forever have a void that is left by his absence. Tom worked as a supervisor for BHI engineering thru AEP in Moundsville for 14years while also working on the family farm with his father and then with his son, Dakota.

He was a member of the Jefferson and Mingo Sportsman’s Clubs, Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio Cattleman’s Association and American Legion Post 557 Predeceased by his parents, Veronica and James S. McCleery, and his only son, Dakota James McCleery, Tom is survived by his life-long companion Valerie Shrieve, sister Susan (Mark) Viola, brother Charles, two nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces, one great-nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Thursday, September 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday, September 28th from 5-8 p.m. at Dumlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd. , Wintersville, OH.

There will be a Blessing Service on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the local Humane Society.
