Obituary for James Walter Miller James Walter ‘Jim’ Miller, age 92, of Welzie Atkins Road in Spruce Pine, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine. Born on November 6, 1925 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Thomas Russell and Hattie Bell Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clarissa Virginia Haynes Miller who passed away in 2016.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Jack and Ralph Miller and his sisters; Rexie Atkins, Hariett Wilson, and Mae Parker. Left to cherish his memories are his children; Dennis Miller of Spruce Pine, Teresa Miller of Spruce Pine, Sarah Ledford and husband, Greg of Bakersille, Loeita Whitson and husband, Randy of Burnsville, and Donald Miller of Spruce Pine, his brother; Tommy Lee Miller and wife, Carolyn of Spruce Pine; his sister; June Atkins of Marion; his grandchildren; James Hall, Ashley Whitson, Alisha Hall, Addison Towle, Kristen Jenkins, Kenneth Miller, Lauren and Cameron Miller, Michael Whitson; and nine great grandchildren. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Jim Miller on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s.

Dallas Renfro and Keith Blankenship officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Pendley Cemetery.
