Bay City, MI formerly of Bridgeport, MI Passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 58 years. The son of the late Ronald and Helen (Erndt) Ruth was born on March 31, 1960 in Saginaw. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.

James was known for his kind heart and spirit. Surviving are three siblings and their spouses, Nancy and Gregory Powell; Thomas and Agnes Ruth; Shelly and David Mason; ten nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and nephews; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Laura Ruth, and 2 nephews, Brandon Bryce and Anthony Larkin Jr. have predeceased him.

The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy.
