Jane M. Gaston, 83, of Salem Lakes, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 7, 1935, she was the daughter of George and Harriet (nee White) Englerth. She spent her early life in Madison, Wisconsin before attending the University of North Carolina and Ohio State University.

They settled in Salem for the past 30 years. Jane was a homemaker and member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She loved knitting, crocheting, reading and gardening.

Jane is survived by her husband, David; children, David Mark (Cindy) Gaston, Dr. Paul (Beth) Gaston, Suzanne (Syl) Turner, Juliette (James) Hammond, Giselle (Rev. Sean) Smallwood and Jeannette (Rev. Dr. Kent) Pierce; nineteen grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann (Mario) Biacalana and Jo (Ed) Turner; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Services for Jane will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev.

Rob Bolling officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10AM to 11:45AM before the service takes places. Burial is pending.
