Obituary for Jane (Goodison) (Howard) Eustace WOLCOTT- Jane (Goodison) (Howard) Eustace, 89, wife of the late Thomas Howard and the late Daniel Eustace, passed away on Sunday, April 15th, at Wolcott View Manor with her loving family by her side. Born in New York on September 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Orwin and Minnie (Demarest) Goodison. She graduated from the Waterbury school system and was employed at Fansteel/VR Wesson and Timex Corp where she retired after many years.

Throughout her life, Jane experienced great joy spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to stay active, laugh, and tell stories (leaving us all with “Jane-isms” and unforgettable memories). In her early years, Jane enjoyed duckpin bowling, golf, walking at the track, and gardening.

She loved to stay busy working outdoors and spending time with her sister Alma and brother-in-law Dominic Cipriano. They were always “gallivanting” to the casino, Frankies, the beach in Old Lyme, Florida, and countless other spontaneous excursions with their coolers packed. Jane was the social butterfly at the Wolcott Senior Center where she loved to participate in exercise programs, belly dancing, and sit and chat.

Jane had a sense of humor that was unmatched by anyone. Her quick wit and sharp tongue left everyone in stitches. She may not have been politically correct, but she was honest, had an enormous heart and a selfless soul.

Jane continually put everyone else’s needs first and was always ready to help out her family regardless of what the task entailed. No one was more generous than Jane. Throughout the last months of her life, Jane resided at the Wolcott View Manor where she was under the care of many incredible people.

She formed many close relationships with the caring nurses and aides that helped keep her comfortable, happy, and feeling loved. A very special thank you to Kim, Stacey, Beulah, Alexis, Tenesha, Katie, and the countless others who devoted themselves to loving Jane during this difficult time. Our entire family will be forever grateful.

We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Hartford Healthcare Hospice for the comfort shown to Jane and her family during her final journey. Jane is survived by her daughter Donna Belval and her husband Edward of Wolcott, her son Michael and his wife Theresa (with whom she resided), her son Daniel Eustace and his wife Linda of Wolcott, her son Brian Eustace and his wife Patricia of Southington, and her son James Eustace and his wife Carol of Wolcott. Jane also leaves behind many grandkids and great-grandkids, nieces and nephews, close friends and caretakers who will miss her dearly.

Besides Thomas Howard and Daniel Eustace, her beloved husbands, she was predeceased by three sisters, Evelyn Norvell, Sara Tracey, and Alma Cipriano. Calling hours are Thursday, April 19th from 5 to 7:30 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:30pm, at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Road in Wolcott. Burial will be private.
