OBITUARY Jane M Welch April 9, 1924 – July 15, 2018 Mable Jane Welch beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord July 15, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born April 9, 1924 to Roy and Ida Belle Murray who preceded her in death. Jane graduated from Harlandale High School in 1941.

In 1949, Jane married Doyle M. Welch, her husband and partner of 50 years. They were longtime members of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where they worshipped for more than five decades. Jane was a buyer for Frost Bros.

and a Realtor for several years in San Antonio before moving to Gallup, New Mexico where she had a retail business “Jane’s Fashions” next to Doyle’s Jewelry Store. She and Doyle sold the businesses and retired back to San Antonio in 1973. Doyle and Jane enjoyed their summer home each year in Pinetop, Arizona, playing golf, cards, entertaining a host of friends.

Jane was a member in the Assistance League of San Antonio as well as a member of the San Antonio Musical & Gardenia Club, Oak Hills Country Club, The Petroleum Club and Lamplighters Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle, brother, Remson Murray and sister, Edna Mae Brown. She is survived by daughter Lynda Jane Lewis; grandchildren TJ Lewis, Courtney Prater and Susan Lewis; great-grandchildren Haleigh and Noah Lewis (TJ) and Layne and Perry Prater (Courtney); numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.

Memorial Service will be Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
