Obituary for Janet C. Larsen Janet C. Larsen of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Moline, Illinois, was born on February 15, 1947, in Moline, the daughter of Fred and Nina (Swanson) Swensson. She entered into heaven gates on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Progress West Healthcare Center, O’Fallon, Missouri. With family by her side, she left her earthly home to be with the Lord, her husband, her parents and many other family that passed before.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3rd, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Burial together with her husband will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.
A funeral luncheon will be held at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following burial. Janet graduated from Moline High School in 1965 and enjoyed participating in the planning of many reunions. She loved being a part of Questers in Cedar Falls and being a part of The Little Red School House.
She had a small gift store in the early 80’s called The Gift Barn and enjoyed being a business owner for many years. Playing with flowers was her lifelong passion and she created so many beautiful arrangements and designed hundreds of weddings over the 25+ years she was a floral designer. She married Bernie Larsen on June 18, 1994, in Cedar Falls.
He died April 5, 2018. She had two daughters, Whitney (Ryan) Witt of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Meredith (Archie) Elkins of Foley, Alabama. The greatest joys of her life were her grandchildren, Jesse Elkins (7), Dylan Elkins (5) and Rachel Elkins (21).
She had two brothers, Donald (Claudette) Swensson of Moline, and Ronald (deceased) (Karen) Swensson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
