Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at her home. Age 79 years. The daughter of the late Victor and Marjorie (Holiday) Turrill, Janet was born September 11, 1939 in Lansing, Michigan.

She married William Murphy, her loving husband of 57 years, on August 4, 1962. He survives her. Janet was employed as a dental assistant to Dr. Arnold Babcock, St. Stephen School as a lunch lady, worked with children at the Saginaw Recreation Department, Heritage High School in the kitchen and as a bus driver for the Saginaw Township School System until her retirement in 2011.

Janet was an avid reader, enjoyed their cottage at Stoney Lake and watching birds. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Surviving besides her husband Bill are two daughters, Marjorie Murphy and Michael Cregar, Grand Blanc; Laura Harrigan and her husband Timothy, Saginaw; four grandchildren, Katherine Martin, Liam Martin, Daniel Harrigan and Elizabeth Harrigan; one brother, Douglas Turrill and Calla Werle; two nieces and one nephew, Amy Klapko, David and McKenna Turrill.

Janet was preceded in death by a brother, David Turrill. Funeral service will take place 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty).

Rev. Dan Scheid will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Murphy’s wishes, cremation will follow.

Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
