Janice Fay Taylor, 70, of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She was born September 25, 1948 to Woodrow and Bessie Mae (London) Taylor. She graduated from Loy Norrix High School with the Class of 1966.

Janice enjoyed being in the Kalamazoo community and enjoyed being active in the Kalamazoo Civic Players. She was also crowned Miss Kalamazoo in 1968. Janice will be remembered for her creativity as she was a skilled painter, actor, and crafter who crocheted and enjoyed calligraphy.

She was a devoted mother who was involved with her children’s school activities. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother – Gary Taylor. Janice is survived by her children – Courtney (Chris) Bryan of Portage and Robby Gillett of Bangor, grandchildren – Chloe, Cayla, and Carson, nieces – Jen Taylor of Coloma and Melissa Taylor Harry of Glenn, and former spouse – Bob Gillett of Grand Rapids.

Visitation will be held 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion Post 160 at 19 N. Center Street, Bangor, MI 49013 following services.
