Janice Kirkendall, 73, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 24, 2018 at Omaha, NE. She was born September 6, 1944 at Falls City to Merle and Edna (McCoy) Prior. She married Lawrence “Bo” Kirkendall on September 6, 1964 at Falls City.

Janice was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1962. Following graduation she attended Business School in Kansas City. When married the couple established their home in Falls City and she worked at Frontier Homes and Boher Brothers Lumber Company until her children were born and then she became a homemaker until her children were older.

She took employment with First National Bank and then worked as a clerk in the Richardson County Treasurer’s office, retiring in 2008. She was a member of First Christian Church, was a deaconess of her church as well as having served on the church board. Janice is survived by her husband, Lawrence “Bo” of Falls City, sons, Scott and his wife Karen of Des Moines, IA, Brian and his wife Roberta of Falls City, sisters, Marlene High of East Dubuque, IL, Carol Hines and her husband Ed of Mexico, MO, grandchildren, Lucas and Hannah Kirkendall.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Jacob Wayne Kirkendall. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
