OBITUARY Janis Elise Bowman May 30, 1941 – September 16, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Janis Elise Bowman, 77, of Afton, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Takoma Regional Hospital. She was a custodian at Chuckey Doak High School. Mrs. Bowman was a member of Mt.

Zion United Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scouts Leader and a member of Modern Woodmen. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Kevin and Joy Bowman, Brian and Cheyenne Bowman; a daughter: Valerie Roberts; grandchildren: John Bowman II and wife, Amelia, Greg Bowman, J R Roberts, Jr. and wife, Lauren, Marissa Roberts, Breanna Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Cadyn Bowman, Datyn Bowman and Sylas Bowman; great grandchildren: Ryder Bowman, Trint Bishop, Ronan Roberts; and special friends: Diane Hilton, Joann Foster, Glenna Peters, Brenda Jones, Dee Dee Catalfamo, Jackie Roberts, Sr., and Elizabeth Hawk.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Audrey Emmett and was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Bowman. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Following visitation, the funeral service will be at 8 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

Pastor Maria Grimm and Rev. David Dugger will officiate. Interment will be 1 pm Thursday at Graceland Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family wished to express at special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Greeneville, Takoma Regional Hospital and Fresenius Kidney Care.
