Obituary for Janit Harriet Guess GUESS, Mrs. Janit H. Galesburg, MI Died Saturday morning April 7, 2018 at her residence. Janit was born March 17, 1938 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Harold and Lois (Baker) Kaake. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Parchment Public Schools and Kalamazoo College before retiring.

Janit was also a member of Community of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James H. Kaake; and a great-grandson, Randall Douglas Hughes Jr. On March 1, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ernest A. Guess who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Michael (Joleen) Guess of Kalamazoo, Mitchell Guess of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew Guess of Plainwell, and Mark (Patty) Guess of Howard City, MI; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 o’clock Friday at Community of Christ Church, 2523 Amherst Ave. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Graveside services will held 2 o’clock Friday in Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Heart Fund.
