Jasper Ernest Stevens 74, of Castle Haynes died Monday, May 27, 2019. He was born December 8, 1944 in Columbus County the son of the late Ernest Howard Stevens and Lilly Margaret Ward Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a former officer with the Greensboro Police Department, Security Officer for the North Carolina School for the Deaf in Greensboro and was employed with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Caulk Stevens; son, Kenneth Scott Stevens and wife, Wanda of Ashboro, NC; grandchildren, Josh Stevens of Ashboro, NC and Brenda McChesney of California; brother, Barry Stevens and wife, Diane of Wilmington, NC; sister, Sally Stevens Ward and husband, Jerry. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lynn Stevens McChesney and his parents. His funeral service with the New Hanover County Sherriff’s Department Honor Guard presenting police honors will be at 2:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home by Rev.

Ken Sides. Burial will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home.
