J.C.’s Obituary J.C. Berrey, 93, of Centralia, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his home. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, at East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico with Pastor Rusty Crutchfield officiating. J.C. was born on July 8, 1925, in Thompson, the son of William Turner and Ruth Estelle (Carpenter) Berrey.

On June 3, 1976, in Audrain county, he married Patricia Parrott. Mr. Berrey served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a farmer. He enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, camping with his family, trips to North and South Dakota, and was a good man.

J.C. was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Berrey of the home; one sister, Lucille Berrey of Mexico; four grandchildren, Corrine Nicole Berrey, Kenneth Mathews, Kristi Mathews Robinson, and Klint Mathews; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Mathews, Haley Mathews Mittag, Marla Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Julie Mathews, Ethen Mathews, Logen Mathews and Kasen Mathews; one great-great-grandchild, Riley; and several nieces and nephews. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Berrey, one son, David Deon Berrey; two daughters, Stacy Dawn Newell and Linda Mathews; one sister, Mary Elizabeth; and two brothers, Harold Berrey and Estil Berrey.
