Wadesboro – Mrs. Jean Miller Boone, 76, died Friday, January 18, 2019, while a patient at Atrium Health University City in Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday at Faith Baptist Church in Lilesville with Rev. Donnie Helms officiating.

Interment will follow in Jowers Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the church before the service beginning at 1:00PM. Jean was born in Anson County on August 25, 1942, and was the youngest child of eleven children born to the late Wally Miller and Lettie Thrift Miller.

She had worked at Wadesboro Mfg. and later at Medical Specialties, Inc. However, her greatest love was cooking huge family meals for her family and using fresh vegetables from her and Olin’s garden. She also enjoyed baking, especially cakes many of which she would give to neighbors and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Olin Boone of the home; a daughter, Jo Ann Gilmore (Terry) of Albemarle; a son, Joe Boone, Jr. (Melissa) of Monroe; four grandchildren, Jessica Bunn, Skylar Boone, Eli Gilmore, and Taylor Boone; and one great-grandchild, Eliza.
