Jean Monaco, 97, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 2, 2018. Jean was born in Jersey City in 1921, was raised in Carlstadt, NJ and returned to Jersey City in 1951 where she lived the rest of her life. Jean is survived by her three children, Joanne and her spouse, Thomas; Joseph and his spouse, Olga; and Anthony and his spouse, Anna; her three grandchildren, Christina and her spouse, Edward; Anthony, and Simone; and her great-grandchild, Edward.

She was predeceased by Anthony, her loving husband of 54 years. Jean was active in many church and community affairs, including the Our Lady of Fatima Society, the Dante Alighire Society, and the Jersey City Seniors. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught CCD at St. Nicholas Church for many years.

Visitation will occur on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. , Jersey City. (For Navigation to our parking lot, please use Address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).

Funeral Services are on Friday, October 5, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Saint Nicholas Church, Jersey City, followed by interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be sent to your charity of choice.
