Obituary of Jeanette R. Huckie Jeanette R. Huckie, 85, Marion, passed away in the early morning hours of March 8, 2019, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center in Marion. She was born in Newport, Kentucky, on August 28, 1933, to the late William and Maggie (Roark) Goley. She married William Archie Huckie, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2003.

Jeanette, an outgoing lady, was a homemaker throughout her life and one who faithfully served her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo and especially enjoyed playing Skip-Bo and going out to eat with the ladies at Colonial Oaks. She also liked to shop and gamble at the casino.

Prior to her health failing, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She is survived by her children: Maggie Potter, FL; Helen (Steve) Eakins, Gas City; Deloris Smith, Kilgore, TX; John (Tammy) Heil, Marion; and Margie Pierce, FL; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and special niece, Sandy (Jeff) Greene-Ison, Xenia, OH. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Reister; son, Merrill “Butch” Heil; sisters, Lucy Atkinson and Ethel Shively-Greene; and brother, Johnny Goley.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Jeanette’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
