Marilyn Jeanne Anderson Gee, daughter of Merrill West and Florence (Holmberg) Anderson, was born on August 21, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. She entered into rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Shenandoah Medical Center at the age of 93 years, 4 months, 25 days. Her early life was spent growing up in Shenandoah where she attended the Shenandoah Community Schools, graduating from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1942.

Jeanne then attended Nebraska Wesleyan receiving an Associate of Arts Degree. On December 7, 1947, Jeanne was united in marriage to Charles R. Gee at the First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. They made their home in Shenandoah, where they raised their two children, Sally West Gee and Timothy Charles Gee.

Jeanne was a homemaker to her husband and children and was considered an exceptional cook. She served on the Iowa State Library Board in the 1960’s, was a member of the Shenandoah Book Club and a life-long member of the Shenandoah P. E. O. Jeanne served as a delegate at the Republican National Convention in 1956. Jeanne loved to travel, taking many trips to Mexico in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

She enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Chuck and Jeanne had a wide network of friends throughout the country that they enjoyed visiting. Preceding Jeanne in death were husband, Charles R. Gee in 2007 and daughter, Sally W. Gee in 2015.

Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Timothy and Carol Gee of San Francisco, CA; two grandsons, William of Los Angeles, CA and Bradley of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Shari Anderson of New York City, NY; and an adopted A. F. S. daughter, Bach Mai Larsen of Long Beach, CA; other relatives and many friends. Following cremation, inurnment will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Jeanne’s name are being directed to the Child Saving Institute, 4545 Dodge St, Omaha, NE 68132 or to the Shenandoah Public Library.
