Obituary for Jeanne Carlisle Brown Jeanne Carlisle Brown Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, September 1, 2018, Mrs. Jeanne Carlisle Brown, 87, loving wife to the late Joseph H. Brown, Jr Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Macon but has lived in Augusta for a total of 42 years. She and her husband lived in Marietta, Ga for several years and returned to retire back in Augusta, Ga.
She attended Mercer University where she was in the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and the Anna Bannister Sunday School Class. She was very active with the Children’s Department Sunday School, Mission Friends, Vacation Bible School, and Jr Camp Counselor.
She taught school at Copeland Elementary, Monte Sano Elementary in Augusta, Ga. , and Bells Ferry Elementary in Marietta, Ga. Mrs. Brown was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Family members include her daughter: Julie Brown LaPierre and husband Steve; sons: David Alan Brown and wife Carmen, Steven Holmes Brown and wife Toni; grandchildren: Jonathan Philip Brown, Austin Louis Brown, Allison Brown Renew and husband Joe, Kallie Carlisle Brown, Tyler Joseph Brown, and Caroline Elizabeth Brown; great granddaughter: Katelynn Marie Renew; and sister: Peggy Carlisle Neal and husband Raymond. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Carl Edward Brown. The Family would like to acknowledge and thank her many loving caregivers, Anita Blackmon, Crystal Bowers, Corinthian LaFavor, Anitra Strother, and Lisa Summer.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Will Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way Ext.
