Jeannie’s Obituary Jeannie passed away on Tuesday May 28 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following complications of lung cancer. She was 77 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea she was a beloved daughter of the late Charles B. and Antoinette (Cognato) DeLeo.

In Chelsea, Jeannie attended local schools and was graduated from Chelsea High School. A young housewife and mother she settled in Tewksbury and resided in the same home for nearly 50 years. She devoted her life raising her family of two daughter’s and one son in Tewksbury.

Jeanie worked as a lead receptionist for Lawless Chrysler in Woburn for several years. She retired for medical reasons 8 years ago. Jeannie battled and lived life a cancer survivor for the past several years, joining and supporting fellow survivors at the Center for Cancer Care in Winchester.

In her life time Jeannie enjoyed walking in her treasured neighborhood, going to Hampton and Revere Beaches, spending time with family and friends, and long-distance calls talking with her grandson in California. She was the beloved mother of Lorie J. Brown and Edward G. Brown, Jr. both of Tewksbury and Lorie M. Lonich and her husband Mike of Saratoga, CA. Cherished grandmother of Michael Lonich II.

Dear sister of Josephine Digilio of Lawrence, Pasquale “Pat” DeLeo of Groveland and Charles P. DeLeo of Danvers and former wife of the late Edward G. Brown, Sr She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral will begin from the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Monday June 3rd at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway Chelsea at 10:00 AM, Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Sunday June 2nd from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite funeral home.
