Woburn, MA – Jeffrey Roy Bishop of Woburn, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband, father, friend, teacher and follower of Jesus Christ, Jeff was surrounded by family and friends as he went to be in the arms of Jesus.

Born on May 22, 1964 in Hampton, NH, to Dorothy and Roy, Jeff is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sophia Louise and two children, Timothy and Grace, in addition to five siblings, Kenneth E. Bishop and wife Pam, Ernest J. Bishop Sr. and Kathy A. Saxe, and Lori-Jean Noyes, all of Hampton, NH, Brenda Stanton of Atkinson, NH and Linda Page of Greenland, NH. Jeff was also a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff was a graduate of Winnacunnet High School (Class of ’82) in Hampton, NH where he played both football and hockey.

He continued on to graduate from Gordon College (Class of ’87) in Wenham, MA with a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies. Jeff began his career as a project manager in IT working for different companies in Massachusetts. During the last eight years he found great joy as a teacher at Abundant Life Christian School in Wilmington, MA, where he taught math, computers and Bible along with other subjects.

Jeff’s great joys in life included many years in Alton Bay, NH where he boated, fished and lead a ministry in water skiing as a member of the community. He was a life-long Boston sports fan with a particular passion for the New England Patriots. He embraced time spent with his wife, children and extended family as well as the countless friends he was always adding to throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Chapel, Lexington Campus located at 59 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA 02421 on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Alton Bay Ski Ministry, Alton Bay Christian Conference Center, 5 Broadway Blvd. , Alton Bay, NH 03810 or Abundant Life Christian School 173 Church St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
