Obituary of Jeffrey Cowles Jeffrey C. Cowles, 53, of Panama, NY, passed away unexpectedly at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, in his home. An area resident for most of his life, he was born April 16, 1965 in Jamestown, NY, a son of Judith Erlandson Cowles and the late J. Clair Cowles. Jeff was a 1983 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Community College.

He also was a graduate of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Erie 2 Chautauqua County BOCES. He was a self-employed landscaper and will be remembered as one who had a keen interest in airplanes, cars and trains. He also loved doing anything that involved being outdoors.

Surviving are his mother, Judith E. Cowles of Jamestown, his wife, Marcie J. Mezzio Cowles whom he married May 2, 1987, a daughter, Taryn Elizabeth (Jason) Spring of Olean, NY and four grandchildren, Shaela Spring, Darren Spring, Griffin Spring and Damon Spring. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Cowles Shortlidge and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Gladys Erlandson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
