Jennie Lee Rathbun, 86, passed away at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center, February 20, 2019 where she had resided the past eight years. Born March 6, 1932 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, she was one of five children of Samuel “Sam” and Ethel (Yount) Haynes Sr. After graduating from Thermopolis High School she was employed at Hot Springs County Court House. In the mid 50’s she married Orin Rathbun in Thermopolis.

While Orin was in the Navy they lived throughout the United States. Returning to Thermopolis, Jennie was later employed at the Holiday Inn as bookkeeper for over 25 years, retiring in the early 2000’s. She enjoyed cooking and took great pleasure in her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her former husband; parents; baby boy; brother Sammie Haynes Jr and sister, Ilene Golden. Those cherishing her memory are her son, Lee Rathbun, Thermopolis; two grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis Richardson, Springfield, OR and Penny Wells of Thermopolis. Memorial services will be held in early summer.
