Jennifer L. Garbutt Owens, 41, of Smock, formerly of Corona, CA, died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Donnell House, Washington. Born June 17, 1977 in Uniontown, PA she was the daughter of the late Gregory Garbutt and Mariann Pontoriero Garbutt who survives and resides in Uniontown. Jennifer was a veteran having served in the US Navy for 7 years and later worked as a financial analyst for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona, CA.

Jennifer’s children were her passion. She was a dedicated mother and enjoyed watching her children play baseball. In addition to her mother Jennifer is survived by her children Clayton Owens and Madison Owens both of Corona, CA; maternal grandmother Mary Pontoriero of Smock, aunts and uncles Lisa Pontoriero of Smock, Regina & Emillio Diaz of Jacksonville, FL, Jake & Colleen Pontoriero of Perryopolis and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Jacob Pontoriero Sr. and paternal grandparents Jerry & Bev Garbutt. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. There will be NO VISITATION Thanksgiving Day.

Prayers of Transfer will be held Friday at 12:30 pm in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 1:00 pm at St. John The Baptist RC Church with the Rev. Alvin E. Cabungcal as celebrant. Interment will take place in LaFayette Memorial Park.

Members of St. John the Baptist parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Jennifer Owens Wednesday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
