Jeri L. Smith, 64, of Oskaloosa passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Jeri Smith was born, August 21, 1954 in Fort McCarthur, CA to Robert and Merle Arlene (Elsensohn) Smith. Jeri and her family lived in a variety of places around the United States due to her father’s career in the military.

Jeri graduated from Buena Vista University with two Bachelor’s degrees, one in history and one in social work. She has lived in Iowa for the past 20 years. Jeri enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the beach and collecting pottery.

Her family includes a daughter, Julia Ortega of Bennett, IA; a sister Lynne Mills of Dennison, TX and a brother, Craig Smith of Idaho. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents. As was her wish, Jeri’s body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
