, a son of the late Jerry Wayne Chapman and Agnes Margaret Rentz Chapman of Newton, IL. He was the beloved husband of the late Shelma Margaret Stanley Chapman. He was the loving father of his son, Jerry D. (Sara) Chapman Jr. of Lesage, WV and his daughter Melissa D. (Jeffrey) Jezewski of Salt Rock, WV.

He had 3 brothers (Larry, Jim and Eddie) and 1 sister (Judy). He was “the best grandpa ever” to 4 grandchildren Jeffrey D. Jezewski, Amber E. Chapman, Kaitlin M. Jezewski and Jacob D. Gundler. He loved his family and friends.

Visitation hours will be 6-8pm Thursday July 26, 2018 and Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, July 27, 2018 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Mark Hatfield officiating. The burial will follow in Sanders Cemetery, Branchland, WV with luncheon provided at Salt Rock Community Church.
