Jerry Dane Trask, 78, formerly of Hillsdale, passed away in Naples, Fla. , on July 14, 2018, surrounded by family and his loving wife, Sue Swank Trask. Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave.

, Moline. Memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #246.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Make A Wish Foundation, Illinois 640 N. LaSalle St. Suite 280 Chicago IL, 60654-3754. Jerry was born on October 15, 1939, in Putnam County, Missouri, the son of Archie Wade and Elsie May (Carmichael) Trask. He married Jerri Holcomb.

He later married Sue Swank in March of 1985 in Moline. Jerry was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked as an Union Official with UAW Local 1309, for 32 years at International Harvester/ Farmall Plant, retiring from Indianapolis in 1993.

He was also a volunteer with the Oxford Township, Illinois Fire Department. He was the loving father of Danny Trask, Tonya (Buck) Henry, Sherry (Layne) Mohr, Rick (Norma) Sabaski. Papa Jer to Jackie Truitt, Ryan, Henry, Aaron Henry and Amy Henry, Jennifer Thorndyke, Matt Rumler, Katelyn Ufkes, Kristyn Mohr, Jennifer Dennison, Joe Sabaski and Stefanie Sabaski.

Great-grandfather of 13. Brother of the late, Jack Trask, Betty McCubbin, Carol Sevier. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.
