Richard “Rick” Anderson, 60, of Moline, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Rick was born on July 18, 1958, in Moline, the son of Gerald W. and Norma V. (Slocum) Anderson.

Rick was a graduate of Moline High School Class of 1977. He married his true love and best friend, Rosa M. Soto on March 5, 2016, in Moline. Rick had been employed as a truck driver for Murray’s Trucking and Storage.

Rick was a left-handed Arm Wrestling State Champion in both Iowa and Illinois. He was active with drag racing at the Cordova Drag Strip. He enjoyed woodworking and riding his Harley with his friends and wife, Rosa.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa; sons, Matt (Breanne) Anderson of Coal Valley, Michael (Elizabeth) Anderson of Moline; daughter, Korin Benson of Virginia; step-daughter, Anita (Johnny) Calderon of Milan; step-son Gavin Steadman of Moline; 7 grandchildren; mother, Norma Anderson of Moline; sisters, Jeri Anderson of Moline and Lori (Jerry) Langenbahn of Mapleton, IL; brother, Terry (Patty) Anderson of Davenport; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
