Jessie’s Obituary Jessie Lee “Pete” Green was the sixth child born to Willie James and Mattie Mae McIntosh Green in Shannon, Mississippi, on August 8, 1952. He was a member of Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he joined at an early age. Pete was a farmer by trade and a jack of all trades.

He had a special love for fishing, hunting, working on cars, and carpentry. He wouldn’t hold his tongue for anything, but he was a gentleman. If you needed help and he was able, he would help.

Pete never liked to wear shoes, no matter the weather. He will be missed by his four sisters, Lorine Washington of Shannon, MS, Doris Jean Green of Tupelo, MS, Lonnie Mae Green of Tupelo, MS, and Pearline (James) Cowley of Plantersville, MS; one aunt, Mary T. Burk of Shannon, MS; his devoted friends, James Wiley, Angie Listenvee, Will Lambert and all of Okolona, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Arthia Mae Armstrong, and Hattie Mae Green; and one brother, Willie James Green.
