Obituary for Jim D. Hayes Jim D. Hayes, age 62, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Friday morning, July 6, 2018 in a Chattanooga Hospital. Jim was the son of the late Bonnie Mae Craig Hayes and J. B. Hayes. Jim loved to work and he drove a truck most of his life.

He loved watching M.A.S.H. on television, listening to music including Rock and Roll and football. Most of all, he loved his church, reading his bible and spending time with his family.

Jim was a member of the Burdette Baptist Church in Meigs County. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Stokes Hayes of Birchwood, his daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Gourley and her husband Daniel, his son, Cody Dale Hayes and his wife Ashley all of Cleveland, his grandchildren, Gabriella Gourley and Caleb Gourley both of Cleveland, his foster son, Nicholas Johnson of Birchwood, his sisters, Diana Woody of Cleveland, Myleathie Callis and her husband Roger of Farragut, Tennessee, his brother, Terry Hayes and his wife Pam of Cleveland and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday evening, July 8, 2018 at 7:00 P. M. at the Burdette Baptist Church with Reverend James Staton and Reverend Ray Edwards officiating.

Graveside services and Interment will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A. M. at the McClanahan Cemetery in Meigs County with Brian Dixon, Justin Woody, Michael Ward, Larry Fortner, Ethan Stokes and Jamie Stokes serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 P. M. Sunday at the Burdette Baptist Church. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
