Obituary for Jimmy Beene Funeral services for Jimmy Beene, 82, of Gilmer, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 28th at McWhorter Funeral Home in Gilmer with Bro. Dicky Mauk officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

He was born September 25,1936 in Gilmer to Luther Beene and Willie Roberts Beene and passed from this life on Monday, December 24, at his home. Jimmy married Sarah Parish June 27, 1958 in Bettie, Texas and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He worked at Texas Eastman for 20 years as a welder and then ran a welding truck as a contract welder for many years until his retirement.

Jimmy was a contract grower for Pilgrim’s Pride for several years having built his houses mainly by himself. He was a member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sarah Beene; daughter, Micki Miller and husband, Allan; son, Danny Beene; grandchildren, Michael Miller and wife, Elizabeth, Kevin Miller and wife, Alaina, and Justin Beene; great grandchild, Natalie Beene.

He is also survived by his sister, Patsy Williams; brother, Bo Beene and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jerry Beene. Pallbearers are Michael Miller, Kevin Miller, Justin Beene, Marty McCurry, Allan Miller, and Philip Anderson.
